As there’s no rail service to Dublin airport, the only public transport option is by bus or coach. Dublin Bus runs the very useful “Airlink” coach service to the airport. There are two services. The 747 service runs run every 10 minutes, Mondays to Saturdays, from the airport to O’Connell Street and Central Bus Station. The 748 service runs every 30 minutes daily from the airport to Central Bus Station, Tara Street, Aston Quay and Heuston Rail Station. Both journeys take around 25 minutes. Tickets can be bought from the driver and cost approximately €6.
“Aircoach” offers service from City Centre and South Dublin City to the airport. Their service runs 24 hours, every day. Tickets can be purchased from the Bus Driver and cost approximately €8.00 (one-way) or €14 (return). This service stops at most of the major hotels around Dublin City.
You can get a taxi from the airport to most areas in Dublin. An average day fare from the City Centre is €15.00. Ask the taxi driver to estimate the fare before getting into the car, if in doubt. There are extra charges for additional passengers, luggage, pets (other than guide dogs), time of day, Sundays, and public holidays. All information regarding charges is available from the taxi driver. Details also available at the taxi rank at the airport.
Taxis can be hailed, hired at taxi ranks or booked by telephone. Three of the main taxi ranks in the city centre are located on O'Connell Street, Dame Street and St. Stephen's Green.
